Commercial Water Removal
Santa Rosa Beach businesses have, for the most part, recovered from last year’s storms. The more common, mundane forms of flooding still happen all over our community, however. Pipes rupture, sinks break and toilets overflow just like they always have at places like spas and salons.
A beauty salon or a day spa may not rebuild Santa Rosa Beach, but each one is valuable to its customers and employees. Commercial water removal is as important for them as it is to any other business. SERVPRO understands the need to reopen the doors so people can rest and recuperate as well as get back to work.
Most of the leaks in a commercial flood usually come from an ordinary source that bursts overnight and the owner comes in to find a mess. If it is a minor fix, like a backed-up toilet, we can often repair it. For major repairs, our technicians turn off the water main and leave the fix to a general contractor.
In many of these businesses, the floors are either bare or covered with a thin, tough carpet with no pad underneath. That makes water removal simpler for us. We start with a series of pumps if the water is more than a couple of inches deep. Once we bring the level down to a thin layer just above the surface, we switch to water extraction wands.
The wands quickly draw the layer of water off the floor and out of the carpets; many also have a heating element built into them. This option allows us to carefully begin drying the carpets without damaging the layers or causing air pockets to form underneath the carpet by loosening the glue holding it in place.
SERVPRO technicians then examine the walls for damage. If we removed the water quickly enough, most of the drywall panels making up the walls could be carefully dried using a combination of air movers to force warm, dry air over their surface and fans to circulate the damp air and draw it outside.
If you are dealing with a flood in your business, call SERVPRO of N. Okaloosa, Walton, Holmes & Washington Counties at (850) 267-0746 today. We can help you remove the water and reopen your doors to your customers as fast and safely as possible.
