Moldy Miramar Walls

This is what can happen when a leak in the opposing wall bathroom goes unnoticed or ignored for any length of time. The water seeped into the void between the walls and provided moisture for the dormant mold spores to begin to grow. When the SERVPRO of N. Okaloosa, Walton, Holmes & Washington technicians arrived on the scene, we sealed off this room and the bathroom from the rest of the house to help prevent mold spores from contaminating the unaffected regions. The corner area required replacing of the ruined porous drywall. We disposed of the contaminated materials by wrapping them in plastic and carting them away. The leak was fixed to reduce the potential of excess moisture leading to another problem. The studs were not structurally damaged, so we sprayed an antifungal agent in the void, dried out the area with an air mover and dehumidifier, and several days later returned to button up the wall.
